Pilot Kenneth Arnold was flying his private jet when he saw a flash of light, followed by an object he described as looking “like a disk.” It is moving at an incomprehensibly fast speed along the slopes of Mount Rainier. Then I saw eight more “plates.” The pilot then reported seeing “unidentified flying objects” (UFOs).

2. USS Nimitz encounters UFOs on November 14, 2004 in the Pacific Ocean

Ufo sightings from the USS Nimitz aircraft in the Pacific Ocean.

About 160 kilometers southwest of San Diego, fighter pilots aboard the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Nimitz encountered a strange, giant Tic Tac-shaped white UFO that was traveling three times the speed of sound. “I don’t know what I saw anymore. It doesn’t have wings or rotors and flies faster than our F-18s,” Lt. David Fravor, one of the pilots who had a chance to see the Tic Tac UFO, said of the encounter. The Pentagon later acknowledged the encounter and said it did not know what the object was.

3. 1964 UFO encounter in the desert in New Mexico

Police Sgt. Lonnie Zamora at the scene saw the UFO.

Police Sgt. Lonnie Zamora was driving down a dirt road when he saw an “egg-shaped spacecraft” emerging from the end of the road. First, Lonnie thought it was a car in need of help. But then he saw a blue flame and heard a loud howl. The object began to fly. Five tourists later confirmed they had seen the spacecraft in flight.

4. UFO “red star” Charlie in Canada in 1975

Manitoba, Canada.

Hundreds of people in Southern Manitoba, Canada, said they had seen a strange object emitting a red-orange glow that flew into the sky every night for several months. The UFO was affectionately nicknamed Charlie Redstar (Charlie’s red star). Charlie has been inspiring UFO-watching parties in fields across Manitoba all the time it’s been around.

5. UFO encounters in Belgium

Triangular UFO.

In just five months (1989–1990), as many as 13,500 people claimed to have seen black triangular UFOs flying low and silent, each triangular with three orange headlights. This is a completely different type of UFO from previous reports. Skeptics call the event a mass hallucination. However, those who believe in the existence of UFOs say that military radars work abnormally when black triangular UFOs appear so the UFO is thought to be real, not hallucinatory.

6. UFO encounter in Trans-en-Provence, France in 1981

Renato Nicolaï was working on his farm when he heard a strange noise. He then saw a flying saucer take off and disappear from the top of the tree, leaving burning marks on the ground where the UFO once parked. An investigation was carried out by France’s special UFO hunting team, GEIPAN. The group claims the ground where the UFO once parked has been heated by more than 260 degrees Celsius.

7. UFO sightings in Melbourne, Australia, 1966

Terry Peck, a former student at Westall High School, with a drawing showing the object she had seen hovering above her school in 1966.

On April 6, 1966, more than 300 students and teachers at Westall High School in Melbourne, Australia, witnessed a large silver cigar-shaped “flying saucer” hovering over the school’s oval room and the nearby Grange Reserve. Around the object were at least five planes circling.

Within about 40 minutes, Australian air forces and troops on the truck swarmed the area and formed a security cordon around the high school and the reserve.

These people told the teacher that they were confused about what had just been seen and not to believe anything. But Andrew Greenwood, one of the teachers at Westall High School, said the Australian government may have covered up the incident and refused to tell anyone what had actually happened since then.

On December 26, 1980, the deputy commander of the British Air Force base, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt, received reports of strange sightings near and around RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge airbases.

Security patrols sent to the area including Budd Stevens and Sargent Jim Penniston then saw strange, bright red lights shining through the trees of Rendlesham Forest.

As they got closer, the two saw a mysterious glowing object with movement and speed in defiance of the laws of physics. The strange thing is that although the speed is very fast, there is hardly any sound produced by the object.

As they were observing the mysterious plane, it suddenly took off at full speed, heading towards a warehouse, causing greater devastation as its bright lights disturbed local wildlife and farms.

After more than 40 years, retired British servicemen are constantly giving contradictory details in the ufo story in Rendlesham Forest. There were a lot of alternative explanations given, causing further confusion and curiosity about what really happened on that day.
